Our organization came together in 1968 when (3) three Boston Police Officers sought a charter and formed a group for the purpose of providing a fellowship and common support mechanism for members of the law enforcement community who are of Italian heritage.

In the years since that modest beginning The Massachusetts Association of Italian American Police Officers has distinguished itself as one of the finest ethnic organizations in the New England area and one of the largest ethnic law enforcement organizations in our state. We have a large membership throughout the United States.

In addition to the political strength created in our collective numbers, the association since its inception continually cultivated a renewed pride in our common ancestry and its traditions.
At our annual banquet, we honor and award outstanding and unselfish contributions made by law enforcement personnel throughout the United States.

The association annually awards five (5) $500.00 scholarships to the children of members of our association whose names are drawn randomly from a pool of applicants. [ must be a member in good standing for two years ]

Our Insurance Benefits Plan provides our members with $5,000 for Accidental Death and an Additional $5,000 will be paid if the insured is killed in the line of duty.

Other activities include social gathering, legislative watchdog activities and lobbying as well as support for members of affected law enforcement families. Also supporting our many charitable events such as Neighbors In Need, Homeless Veterans, Jimmy Fund, Law Enforcement Memorial, Honoring our officer’s who paid the supreme sacrifice. Flower for our deceased members, and providing a fellowship and common support mechanism for members of the law enforcement community who are of Italian heritage.

Once again, the greatest benefits of all is the pride, fraternity and overall good feeling that comes with saying, "Yes, I am a member of the Association of Italian American Police Officers,” We not only serve our community but our country with honor, pride and dignity.
